Teacher

Direct the daily education program and the implementation of the Head Start goals to the fullest extent possible for each child. Form partnerships with parents to set and work toward school readiness goals. Ensure Day Care Licensing (ODJFS) regulations are followed and maintain SUTQ rating for your center.

Requirements:

  • Education/experience - BA, BS degree in Early Childhood Education; one (1) year teaching experience and Pre-K License preferred.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for accurate record keeping, reporting, and writing.
  • Maintain flexibility, in meeting job responsibilities.
  • Show the ability to function effectively and appropriately with various community agencies, programs and professionals. Maintain a professional image while representing Head Start.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, willingness, and commitment to attend professional meetings and training.
  • Exhibit the ability to communicate and remain courteous and professional with children, parents, staff and community members.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrate a sincere commitment to the philosophy of Head Start and to the objectives of an early childhood intervention program.
  • Early Head Start Parent Educator

    To provide in-home instruction until an opening occurs in the EHS Home Visitor case load. Provide group socialization experience to parents and children (infants/toddlers) which will enhance the parents' ability to fill the role of primary nurturer of their child. Maintain on-going contact with families and work with all other components (health, nutrition, family services, mental health, special services, parent education and resource/referral) to integrate services into the family setting. Must meet requirements per Federal Head Start Performance Standards and any local, state and or agency policies and procedures. Responsible for service planning, delivery and system coordination to Head Start families and children. Work with parents to assess their needs and assist in meeting those needs through implementation of their Family Partnership Agreement (FPA) and our program area plans. Assist in the support of families and their needs and provide opportunities for families to gain self-sufficiency.

    Requirements:

  • AA in early childhood education, mental health, social work, child development or related field.
  • Must have flexible schedule to accommodate family needs, may include some evening hours.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advance computer skills, internet and e-mail.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for accurate record keeping, reporting and writing.

  • Associate Teacher

    Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or BA, BS in related field, plus one year teaching experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for accurate record keeping, reporting and writing.
  • Maintain flexibility in meeting job responsibilities.
  • Show the ability to function effectively and appropriately with various community agencies, programs and professionals. Maintain a professional image while representing Head Start.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, willingness and commitment to attend professional meetings and training.
  • Exhibit the ability to communicate and remain courteous and professional with children, parents and staff.
  • Demonstrate a sincere commitment to the philosophy of Head Start and to the objectives of an early childhood intervention program.
  • Bus Driver (Substitute)

    Transport children for Head Start classes and functions in a safe manner following established procedures.

    Requirements:

    • Be at least 21 years of age

    • Possess and maintain a Commercial Vehicle Driver license with bus driver’s endorsement

    • High school diploma or GED
