Services For Families

Parent Opportunities: Policy Council, Parent Committees, Volunteering, Site staff interaction

Transition Services: We will assist parents to enroll or re-enroll their child in Head Start. Three, four and five year old children are enrolled in the same classroom. Once enrolled in a Head Start classroom, children do not have to adjust to a new classroom when they have a birthday.

Throughout your involvement with Head Start, staff will work with you and your child, assisting in the adjustment to preschool life. Staff will assist you with any changes in your child’s schedule and/or location and work on specific skills that will help your child to perform at his/her personal best.

We will assist parents, as needed, in registering your children for kindergarten. Individual information about each child will be sent to the school the child is scheduled to attend.
Head Start uses family partnership agreements to identify strengths and areas of need to work toward parent generated goals. Parents also benefit from the resources and guidance each program provides to Head Start families, enhancing parenting skills, career building and community connections.
What truly sets Head Start apart from other early childhood programs is that it is a program for the whole family. We help families identify their needs and build on their strengths in order to achieve their goals and break the cycle of poverty.
